TAN FRANCE

In honor of Father’s Day, we’re celebrating a friend of the brand and co-host of Netflix’s recent reality show ‘Next in Fashion’, Tan France. Before taking the world by storm as one of the Fab Five in Netflix’s 2018 ‘Queer Eye’ reboot, Tan studied fashion at university then transitioned into a career as a retail fashion designer for several major fashion lines. Tan continues to make moves within the fashion industry with his most recent endeavor, Was Him, a gender-neutral outerwear line. In addition to being a powerhouse in fashion & entertainment, Tan is also a devoted husband and father who presently lives with his family in Salt Lake City, Utah. Current title and occupation?

Host for Netflix, Designer and Author.

One thing you do every morning to start your day?

The first thing I do every morning, as soon as I get up, is put the coffee on, to brew. I use a french press and love my freshly ground coffee. Without my coffee, I can only give like 50%. It's my life line, and I love it!

Do you have a power statement or personal motto?

Honestly, I'm not one to live by a quote or certain words. I am a Muslim, and I feel rather spiritual so I was raised to live a life of kindness and compassion and that's my only real north star.

Best career advice you've ever received?

If you don’t ask, you don’t get.

Proudest career moment yet?

My dad was an entrepreneur and taught all of his kids to "learn everything about the business you want to create, and then physically do it". What he meant by that was that you should know every facet of your business, and understand how to undertake that, so you know how many employees it takes to run the business, what is realistic to ask of your employees, and to know that what you're asking of them is possible. It's how I ran my businesses and how I managed to achieve success.

Your favorite beauty trend that’s having a moment?

Ooh, I think the show Euphoria has given way to real creativity when it comes to make-up and how one expresses themselves. It's not necessarily a trend, but a creative movement and I love it so much.

Did you always want to do what you’re doing right now?

My honest answer to this is that I want to remain an entertainer for as long as I'm enjoying it as much as I am doing so now. I love my job(s) so much, and I pray I will always love my work. But, if it ever does start to become something I don't enjoy, I'm more than happy to leave it all behind, and be a stay-at-home parent. Being a parent is the greatest.

Favorite Self Care Hack?

My Yogurt/Green Tea mask. It's a homemade face mask that I've been using for about 10 years now, and I think it's fantastic. For the recipe, I have a YouTube Tutorial on my channel. Just google Tan France Yogurt Face Mask Tutorial and have your world ROCKED!

Fave BeautyBio product?

This is a tough one, as I can't just choose one. I have to give you my two faves. The Quench and The Quench Eye. I have been using both for about 3 years and I love them so much. The Quench is the perfect night time moisturizer for my skin, and feels so luxe. The Quench Eye is literally the best eye cream I've ever used. And no, this is not a paid partnership or sponsored in any way. I legit just love them both so much.
